Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Evelyn decided to move west for two years to experience the west coast. Stepping off the train in downtown Vancouver, she knew she was home. The mountains, the sea, the people, all welcomed her, and she embraced the city happily. That was over 40 years ago. Evelyn now resides in the Comox Valley, beside the ocean in the shadow of Mount Washington in British Columbia.
Living on Vancouver Island and traveling abroad has given her inspiration for her paintings. The great thing about painting is that each painting has a story to tell and she is more than willing to give you the narrative. Being a member of Artsphere, an art group out of Royston, BC, Canada, has been a wonderful experience and an opportunity to have her work critiqued by fellow artists and to show her paintings at various art exhibitions.
Christina expresses the characteristics, beauty and/or oddities of her subject matter and uses either oil, acrylic or watercolor paints to create realistic looking paintings of nature, animals, birds and people. Hailing from Sweden and settling in British Columbia, Canada, as a young child, she now resides in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, Canada.
Spending many years taking community art classes and teaching herself basic drawing and painting techniques, Christina went on to earn a diploma in Fine Arts at the North Island College in Courtenay, BC, Canada.
Christina continues to develop her creative skills by participating and teaching community art courses. She is an active member of the Comox Valley Arts Council, Pearl Ellis Art Gallery and Artsphere of the Comox Valley which includes showing and selling her art in collective and solo shows. Her art can be described as inspirational, beautiful and sometimes whimsical.
